Sustainability

Every year, well over 50,000 tons of used agricultural films are produced in Germany alone. The public discussion shows that the use of plastics must be minimized. However, due to the high demands placed on the films, their use in agriculture has so far been without alternative, making sustainable handling of waste films indispensable. As a close partner of agriculture, we ensure the resource-saving and sustainable use of agricultural films by reusing the regranulates we produce in film production. By feeding the agricultural films into the recycling process, we save over 30,000,000 kg of greenhouse gas per year, which is equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions that bind over 2,200,000 trees in Europe every year.

We are also a collection and recycling partner of the take-back and recycling concept for harvested plastics, ERDE-Recycling. ERDE is the nationwide take-back and recycling system for harvested plastics in Germany, which grew out of a voluntary industry initiative and actively contributes to a sustainable agricultural economy in feed production and fruit and vegetable cultivation. We also pay attention to the highest quality standards and, of course, sustainability when selecting our silage films. Our film manufacturers are pioneers in terms of environmental protection and resource conservation and have long relied on the use of high-quality regranulates in the production of silage films. At the same time, they are committed to taking back used films and ensure that the silage films produced are 100% recyclable after use, thus creating a material cycle.
